New Music Alert! Songs That Have My Attention!

Hello fellow Readers! Welcome to another post for Pop Culture Under The Magnifying Glass! I haven’t written a music post in a while, so I’ve decided to share some of the singles that are on my Spotify favorites. These songs cover different genres and catch my attention in so many ways. So, if you haven’t heard these singles and have read this, I hope you check them out. Without further ado, let’s get started!

1)     “HE KNOWS” (Camilla Cabello & Lil Nas X)

“He Knows” is one of my new favorites, which is sang by Camilla Cabello and features Lil Nas X. I have always enjoyed Cabello’s songs such as “Havana,” “Sangria Wine,” “My Oh My,” etc. So when Cabello revealed that her new song was coming out on May 10th, I had to check it out. One thing that I particularly like about the song is the sound as you can dance to it. This is a song to have fun and party to, especially with the girls. Since the song’s release, it has been popular, especially on TikTok. Liking this song, I look forward to hearing Cabello’s new album, C, XOXO, which will be released on June 28th.

2)     “Million Dollar Baby” (Tommy Richman)

Hearing the song on one of my local stations, I was intrigued. Even though it’s a fast and short song, it’s another hit song that you can dance to. Listening to the song, I was impressed by the R&B and hip-hop sounds. Also, I like the singing and rapping that Richman does on this song. Richman, a new artist, posted his song on TikTok, amounting to many streams of the song. Since his song is doing good, I know we will see more of Richman and I look forward to hearing his songs.

3)    “Espresso” (Sabrina Carpenter)

I would label this song as a bop! If you haven’t heard this song, it’s catchy and fun. Carpenter, who sings this song, is a popular singer and songwriter, also behind the hits “Nonsense” and “Feather.” This song, which is labeled as pop, is something you can dance to, but it’s also empowering. Carpenter mentions that she wrote the song about self-confidence, which can be helpful for anyone, especially women. I groove with this song, and I look forward to hearing Carpenter’s new album, Short n’ Sweet, which will be released on August 23rd!

4)   “Too Sweet” (Hozier)

First hearing “Take Me to Church” I enjoyed the sound of the song, but especially Hozier’s voice. To be honest, I haven’t really heard any of his other music until now. My local radio station has been playing one of Hozier’s new songs, “Two Sweet,” which is off of his EP call Unheard. Hearing the song, I still like Hozier’s voice, but especially the rock and guitar sounds of the song. Since I like this song, I will look out for his next music.

5) "End of Beginning" (Djo; Joe Keery)

Now, I love Joe Keery as Steve on Stranger Things! I’ve heard that is a musician, but I’ve never checked his music out. Hearing this song on my local radio station, I was impressed. From the vocals to the guitar riffs and electro sounds, this song is unique. The song was originally released in 2022, but it’s finally getting attention now. I’m glad to see that Keery is gaining attention for his music as well as his acting. I will definitely be following his music now.
